This covered electrode mirrors Arcos 309 with the exception of the addition of niobium and a reduction in carbon. Arcos 309Nb provides resistance to carbide precipitation and, therefore, increases intergranular corrosion resistance. It also delivers higher strength in elevated temperatures.

Applications

Arcos 309Nb is designed for welding Type 347 clad steels or for the overlay of carbon steel.
